1. Kanchipuram silk sarees – the classic Deepavali choice

For most Tamil families, Deepavali means a new Kanchipuram silk saree (kanchi pattu). The thick silk, contrast borders and zari pallu look grand in the pooja room and in family photos.

Pure Kanchipuram silk sarees under ₹10,000 and above

Our pure Kanchipuram silk sarees start at about ₹5,200, and more than a third of the current collection is priced under ₹10,000. Look for classic designs like palum pazhamum (fruit and milk) checks, korvai contrast borders, temple borders and mayil (peacock) motifs. For a bigger festive look, see our Mithilam festive Kanchipuram silks, and for brides and special gifts, Subiksham bridal & designer Kanchipuram.

Kanchipuram-style sarees under ₹5,000

Want the Kanchi look on a smaller budget? Our Budget Kanchipuram sarees cost ₹1,799 to ₹4,199 (most around ₹3,000). They have bold contrast borders in red, mustard, green and pink. Semi Kanjivaram sarees (₹1,799 – ₹3,999) are lighter and easy to manage through a long festival day.

2. Silk cotton sarees – festive look, all-day comfort

Deepavali starts before sunrise and ends late at night. A silk cotton saree gives you the soft shine of silk with the breathable comfort of cotton, which is perfect for Chennai weather. Choose from korvai silk cottons with contrast borders, Vairaoosi silk cottons with fine zari buttas, and handloom silk cottons with temple-tower and mini-butta borders. Prices start at just ₹999 in our silk cotton collection.

3. Banarasi and tussar sarees – for the evening pooja and parties

If your Diwali includes a Lakshmi pooja, an office party or a North-Indian style celebration, try a Banarasi tussar saree (₹1,999 – ₹7,899). Floral brocade zari borders in navy blue, rust orange and black catch the light beautifully under diyas. For a lighter daytime look, our semi tussar sarees come in Madras checks, kalamkari peacock and tower-pattern borders.

4. Beautiful Deepavali sarees under ₹2,000

Buying for the whole family, or gifts for staff and relatives? Our sarees under ₹2,000 page brings together every saree below ₹2,000, many under ₹1,000. It includes semi tussar, Kota, tissue, bamboo silk, handloom cotton and silk cotton weaves. These are the easiest way to give everyone something new for Deepavali.

5. Lucky and festive colours for Deepavali

  • Red and maroon – the most traditional Deepavali colours, linked with joy and prosperity.
  • Yellow and mustard – bright and auspicious for the morning pooja.
  • Green and peacock blue – fresh, rich colours that look beautiful with gold zari.
  • Pink and magenta – a festive choice for younger family members.
  • Pastels with zari – sandal, ivory and lavender for a modern, elegant look.

Many families prefer to avoid plain black on festival mornings. If you love dark shades, pick one with a bright contrast border.

6. How to care for your festive saree after Deepavali

  • Silk and Kanchipuram: dry clean only. Air it in the shade after wearing, and store it folded in a soft cotton cloth.
  • Refold every few months so the zari does not crack along the folds.
  • Silk cotton: dry clean the first time, then hand wash gently in cold water with mild soap and dry in the shade.
  • Oil and cracker sparks: keep a cotton dupatta or shawl handy while lighting crackers, and remove oil stains early with a dry cleaner.

When to order your Deepavali saree
